WFCA HALL OF FAME CRITERIA
MEMBERSHIP: Three categories will be considered for membership.
1. High School. In this category, we will honor those people who have been
outstanding achievers at the high school level. We will select one assistant coach each
year also.
2. College. In this category, we will honor those people who have been
outstanding achievers at the college level. They must be native to the State of Wisconsin
if their achievements come in an out-of-state school. This includes players as well as
coaches. We will select on assistant coach each year.
3. Citation. This category would honor anyone who has been an outstanding
contributor to the football program in the State of Wisconsin. This includes members
of the media, administration, trainers, officials, etc.
ELIGIBILITY: All high school coaches considered for induction must have a minimum
of ten years coaching in the State of Wisconsin. Priority will be given to coaches who
have been out of coaching for five years or who have coached until retirement age.
Criteria for selection will be based on record, longevity, and service to WFCA.
It is further proposed that all head coaches in Wisconsin reaching 20 years of service be
automatically nominated to the selection committee for consideration.
A coach who has satisfied the above criteria and has reached the age of 50 can be
nominated to the Hall of Fame even though he is still actively coaching.
NOMINATION: Any member of the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association may nominate a
deserving coach to the Hall of Fame Committee. Once a coach is nominated, his name
remains on the list. His name will automatically come up for consideration in succeeding
years without being resubmitted.
*Notice that you can nominate an assistant coach at the high school and college level.
*Notice that you're now eligible to be nominated if you have coached 10 years and have
reached the age of 50. You can still be actively coaching.
