Born January 26, 1926 in Antigo, Wisconsin

Attended Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln High School Graduate of U.W-La Crosse 1950, M.S. degree from U.W-Madison 1967

Coached football at:

Upsala, Minnesota 1950-53;
Eleva-Strum High School 1953-56; and
Randolph High School 1956-76.
His record was 109 wins, 84 losses and 8 ties, five conference championships and four undefeated seasons.

John coached football for 26 years. 20 years at Randolph High School. In 1982, we was in his 32nd year as basketball coach and was named to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1980. His basketball teams won ten championships.

In twenty years as track coach his teams won seven championships. He coached baseball for six years winning one championship.

John earned a football letter at U.W-Stevens Point and a basketball letter at U.W-La Crosse.

He served 2 years in the Military Service between 1944 and 1946.

His football teams at Randolph were ranked number two in 1964 and number on in 1965. John served on the play-off committee for two years.
