Falcon Athletics is proud to announce that a Mike Farley Tribute will be held on Sept. 25 at UW-River Falls.

Farley coached the Falcon football team from 1970-88 and finished his 19 year career with a 117-71-3 overall record. He is fifth on the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) all-time wins list. Just five years after his arrival, he led the 1975 Falcons to the WIAC championship. The last Falcon team to win a WIAC title before 1975 was in 1958. Farley led the Falcons to eight WIAC team championships (1975, 1976, 1979, 1980, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987). The Falcons won outright titles in 1979 and 1985. The 1979 team earned a berth in the NAIA Div. I National Playoffs - it was the first time a Falcon football team had earned a post-season playoff spot. He coached 95 players to All-WIAC honors and three players to WIAC Player of the Year recognition (Mike Will, 1975; Roland Hall, 1982; Greg Corning, 1987). Farley was named the WIAC Coach of the Year in 1985. That award was started in 1980. 

On Sept. 25 there will be Knowles locker room and Ramer Field tours from 3-5 p.m. The field turf at Ramer Field may be totally installed by Sept. 25 giving guests a chance to see the new surface up close and personal. The festivities will move to the River Falls Golf Club for a social hour (5:30 p.m.), dinner (6:15 p.m.) and a program (7 p.m.)

"We encourage anyone who new Coach Farley to attend," said Tribute committee chair, Jim Thies. "Mike had such a great impact on not only the student-athletes he coached, but also the assistant coaches he worked with and the people of River Falls. We are thrilled to have this opportunity to recognize Mike for all he has meant to UWRF and the River Falls community."
