The Wisconsin Football Coaches Association has been involved in conversations around youth football for many years, and those have only increased in recent seasons as the challenges faced at all levels of football have increased. The WFCA is supportive of a new endeavor in the state called the Wisconsin Youth Football Alliance. Please see information below and consider sharing with your youth programs.

WISCONSIN YOUTH FOOTBALL ALLIANCE

From the Wisconsin Youth Football Alliance --

Greetings, it is probably no secret to any of you that the game of football is under attack, especially at the youth level. There is currently legislation in the states of Massachusetts and New York to ban tackle football up to a certain age. Previously legislation has been defeated in California, New Jersey and Illinois. Even though there is currently no known planned legislation here in Wisconsin, those of us in the WYFA would like to be prepared in the event something does happen. One of the main goals of the WYFA is to have one common voice to help support the participation and continuation of youth football in Wisconsin while keeping safety of the players our highest priority. The WYFA in no way intends to dictate the specifics on how you run your program or league.

In order to learn more about WYFA please check out our website at https://sites.google.com/view/wisconsinyouthfootballalliance/home

If you have any questions or would like to join us in this great cause please contact me at your convenience.

Thank you,
