Mike Beck, Racine Park/Franklin

Mike was born in Wisconsin Rapids, WI on January 28, 1964 to Michael and Kathryn Beck. He is the third (middle) of five boys in the Family. Mike graduated from Racine Park High School in 1982 where he played both Football and Baseball and was Captain of the 1982 state semifinalist baseball team.

Mike continued playing football at University of Wisconsin- Whitewater where he was a 3-year letter-winner, and a member of the 1984 WIAC Championship team. Mike player for both Coach Forrest Perkins and Bob Berezowitz during his career.

After graduating from Whitewater, he began his High School coaching career at Racine Park High School under Hall of Fame Coach Phil Dobbs. He was a coach for the 1988 State Championship team, which featured Former Badgers Brent Moss and JC Dawkins. During his time at Racine Park, he was a member of 8 Conference championships and three state semi-finalist teams. Mike was on staff for five players who made it to the NFL. Kevin Barry played for the Packers and Texans for 10 years, and Chris Maragos won 2 super bowls during his playing career with the Eagles and Seahawks.

Mike then went to Franklin High School in 2004 where he is still coaching the Offensive Line, and he has been an Assistant Softball Coach for the past 10 seasons as well. Mike teams have won 12 Conference Championships, been to the semi-finals seven times, been to the finals four times (’06, ’13, ’16, and ’21), and won two state championships (’06 and ’21). Mike coached four WFCA All-Star game and one WFPCA All-Star game. He was able to Coach both his sons while at Franklin. Mike was inducted into the Franklin High School HOF in 2022 alongside his son Bryan. Mike has coached over 30 offensive Linemen who have gone on the play at all college levels while at Franklin High School. Mike has a career High School record of 301-105 (.743).

Mike met his wife Lori while at Park High School and they have been married for 36 years. They Have 2 sons: Trevor 28 and Bryan 26, and the family will be growing as both sons are engaged to be Married in 2023! Mike and Lori enjoy Electric Bike rides and finding good breweries.
