Wisconsin Football Playoff Matrix receives overwhelming support in coach survey

We are writing to inform you of the results from the recently conducted WFCA survey regarding the proposed Wisconsin Football Playoff Matrix. A total of 400 head coaches responded to the survey out of roughly 425 programs in the state across all seven divisions of 11-player football as well as 8-player football. Participation in the survey was very even across the divisions.

Final WFCA survey results:

350 (87.5%) in favor of moving forward with the Wisconsin Football Playoff Matrix

50 (12.5%) in favor of maintaining the status quo

The response to the survey was impressive, and we thank everyone for providing their feedback. Given the incredibly overwhelming number and percentage of coaches who support the Wisconsin Football Playoff Matrix, the WFCA will be recommending that the WIAA Football Coaches Advisory introduce the proposal at the upcoming January 7th meeting. From there, it will go through the various WIAA committees, including the Advisory Council, which can vote down any proposals before they even get to the Board of Control. The WIAA Board of Control meeting, which would be the final step in the process and hopefully grant final approval, will be held on Wednesday, February 5th.

We STRONGLY encourage coaches to talk about this proposal with their Athletic Directors and Superintendents, and recommend they provide feedback and support to those on the WIAA Advisory Council and Board of Control.
