Tom was born in Waupaca, Wisconsin on September 25, 1962 to Donald and Nancy Chase. He graduated from Weyauwega High school in 1981 where he was a three-sport athlete all 4 years earning All-Conference honors in both football and baseball and earning 8 total varsity letters.
Chase was enrolled at UW-Eau Claire in 1982 and returned home to farm after one year. Chase then enrolled at UW-Oshkosh in 1983 and Graduated in 1987.
Upon graduation Chase took a teaching/coaching position at Serena Grade School in Serena Illinois for one year. Chase then moved back to Weyauwega and was offered a teaching and Coaching positions and eventually served as the school’s Athletic Director for 8 years.
Chase was granted the Head football coach position at Weyauwega-Fremont High School in the fall of 1991 and served in that position until 2014 where he coached one conference championship and seven play-off teams reaching Level three twice and State semi-finalist in 2005.
Chase continued to teach at Weyauwega-Fremont High school and took an assistant Coaching position in the fall of 2015 at Ripon College where he coached Quarterbacks, Fullbacks and Slots for four years.
Chase then had a hunger to be a head coach again and was offered the head coaching position at Randolph High School where he is actively coaching and has had five straight play-off appearances.
Chase married the love of his life on June 29, 1985, Tammy, who he lost to breast cancer on July 8, 2022. Together they lived an incredible life with two amazing sons, Christopher and Cody who Chase was able to coach in high school. Both went on to play at Ripon college for 4 years each.
