Ray "Bill" Polczynski - Milwaukee Washington

Graduate of Milwaukee South Division High School, Marquette University

Bill coached football at Milwaukee Washington High School 1949-85.

His record was108 wins, 59 losses, 9 ties, and three City Championships.

Bill graduated from Milwaukee South Division High School where he was All-City in football for two years. He also won the scoring title for two years.

He played football at Marquette University and at Great Lakes during World War II. He was a player in the Army/Navy All-Star Game during World War II.

He was drafted by the New York Giants in 1947.

He was a scout for Marquette University under Lisle Blackbourn. Bill was supervisor of officials for the Central States Professional Football League for 10 years. He coached such greats as; Chuck Blackbourn - University of Wisconsin, David Ownes - University of Michigan, Greg Lehman - Ohio State, Ralph Erdman - Ripon College, Dennis Williamson - Whitewater, Terry Fredenburg - Green Bay Packers, Fred Weber - Marquette and Spiro Chiconsa - Northwestern.

At Washington, Bill also served as head wrestling, baseball and track coach.

He is a member of the South Division High School Old Timers, Old Time Ball Players of Wisconsin, Marquette "M" Club and AARP.
