Jim graduated from St. Catherine's H.S. in Racine in 1950 where he played football, basketball, and baseball. He was All-Conference Football in 1948 and 1949.
He attended the University of Michigan in 1950-51 where he played freshman football, basketball, and baseball. Jim transferred to the University of Wisconsin where he played football in 1952, '54, and '55.
College honors include: 1952 Rose Bowl, Blue-Gray Game, Senior Bowl, 1956 College All-Star team. Jim played with Chicago Bears in 1956.
Jim's teaching career began in 1960 at Don Bosco H.S. in Milwaukee. He taught physical education and coached for 12 years.
In 1972, Jim started teaching and coaching at Thomas More High School. He taught physical education and was Athletic Director. He also coached football. Jim is currently teaching Social Studies at PIUS XI H.S. He coached football there for 10 years and is now coaching football at Waukesha Catholic Memorial.
Jim's overall record as a Head Football Coach is 206-60-4. His teams won 12 Conference Championships and 3 WISAA State titles.
