The Green Bay Packers have announced Ken Krause of Muskego High School has been named the Green Bay Packers High School Football Coach of the Week.

Krause currently is in his ninth year as the head coach of the Muskego football program. The Warriors wrapped up their 2015 regular season Friday, Oct. 16 with a 27-20 win over top-ranked Arrowhead and earned a share of the Classic 8 Conference championship. Friday’s victory marked the Warriors’ first win over the Warhawks since joining the conference in 2012. They will now host the Janesville Parker Vikings on Friday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. in the first round of the WIAA football Division 1 playoffs.

“You have to have everyone working together from the youth football level to parent groups to great coaches, administration and awesome players in order to win back-to-back Classic 8 championships,” said Krause. “Our theme is ‘Unity, Family, Brotherhood,’ and I feel like Muskego football, in our community, really exemplifies that.”

A West Allis native, Krause is a 1990 graduate of West Allis Central High School, where he played running back and outside linebacker under Wisconsin Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame inductee Phil Sobocinski. Krause went on to attend the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, and while in college he began his coaching career as an assistant at his alma mater West Allis Central. He was then promoted to head coach in 1996. After 10 years at West Allis Central, he moved to Muskego, where he spent one year as an assistant coach before accepting the head coaching position in 2007. Krause is also the school’s special education teacher.

Krause and his staff oversee a program of 135 players, including a varsity roster of 65. His coaching staff includes Rob Domenosky, Eric Hetzel, Jim Michlig, Larry Milton, Dan Mlachnik, Nick Schmidlkofer, Collin Smith, Ryan Lucchesi, Mike Jakubowski, Jeff Huckstrof, Todd Porubcan, Jason Henneberry, Darren Hojnaki and Troy Mendez.

Krause and his wife, Julie, have four children, Cody, Dylan, Aiden and Ashton.
