By Travis Wilson, for the WFCA

The Fifth Annual WFCA Combine was held over the weekend, and full results are now available. The Combine was split into five sessions, though all athletes were tested on the same events. All events were held at the new indoor facility at Sussex Hamilton High School. A total of 550 athletes competed in the Combine.

The WFCA Combine was conducted by NX Level staff with many high school football coaches assisting, and sponsored by the WFCA, NX Level, KollegeTown Sports, and WisSports.net. Special thank you to WFCA President Tony Biolo for organizing the event and compiling the results, Brad Arnett & crew at NX Level, Jeff Trickey for conducting the quarterback workout in the afternoon, and Sussex Hamilton High School for the hospitality.

More than 75 college coaches were on hand from at least 28 different schools, with several programs sending multiple coaches to evaluate potential prospects. While D1-FBS coaches were prohibited from attending by NCAA rules, 9 D1-FCS coaches from four schools were in attendance and closely monitoring the action. The full list of coaches in attendance is available in the tab below.

Combine Recap and Top Performances

There were some blistering times posted in the 40-yard dash Saturday afternoon, which was done via hand-timing by the professionals from NX Level.

Waunakee Class of 2019 receiver Sawyer Maly posted the fastest 40-yard dash time at the Combine, running it in 4.40 seconds. Three other players went in the 4.4's. Eric Bridges of Beloit Memorial, a 2019 running back, ran 4.47 seconds, while both Keagen Berg of Saint Croix Central and Darios Crawley-Reid of Martin Luther finished in 4.48 seconds.

A total of 20 athletes ran the 40-yard dash in less than 4.60 seconds. One player over 200 pounds was included in that group:  Jackson Kollath of Sussex Hamilton (2019 LB; 6-2, 227 pounds).

Oregon 2019 running back Dylan DiMaggio scored the best vertical jump (measured by electronic pads) with a leap of 39.6 inches. Three players jumped 36.9 inches: Eric Bridges of Beloit Memorial, Tyler Jirousek of Mauston, and Sawyer Maly of Waunakee. Kimberly 2019 linebacker Tristan Argall was very impressive, jumping 35.7 inches at 5-11, 209 pounds.

There were nine players that went over 10-feet in the broad jump, led by Mauston's Tyler Jirousek with a leap of 10'8". Not far behind was Mukwonago 2019 wide receiver Wesley Juszczak, who leaped 10'4".

The L-Drill was added back in to the Combine this season after a one year hiatus. Janesville Craig 2019 defensive back Tegan Christiansen posted the best mark of 6.69 seconds. Mukwonago 2019 receiver Wesley Juszczak was next at 6.76.

The shuttle or pro agility is another outstanding change-of-direction test, with athletes starting from a stop, running five yards in one direction, ten yards the other direction, and five yards back to the center. College coaches lined up around the testing locations all day, as it is one of the most beneficial events for seeing how players move, bend, and control their bodies.

In the Shuttle event, the top time went to Oconomowoc 2019 running back Drake Reese, who completed the 5-10-5 shuttle in 4.08 seconds. Sussex Hamilton Class of 2019 tight end William Enneking had the fastest time last year and the second fastest this season. The 6'3.5", 232-pound tight end is a strong Division 1 prospect, and went 4.14 in the shuttle drill. Muskego's RJ Bosshart (2019 RB) and Sussex Hamilton's Noah Bauer (2021 QB) were close behind at 4.22 seconds.

Players also tested in the bench press, with 2019 prospects repping at 185 pounds, 2020 prospects at 170 pounds, and 2021 prospects at 2021 pounds. Arrowhead linebacker Seth Fohey and Watertown running back Brian Katzenberger tied for the most reps at 185 pounds with 31. The top mark by 2020 players at 170 pounds was turned in by Muskego defensive lineman Jacob Peardon with 36. Wauwatosa West defensive lineman Cameron Jackson was close behind with 35. Nekoosa 2021 lineman Logan Cleary had no trouble with the 155-pound weight for the current freshmen, putting it up an incredible 51 times.

In addition to some of the players listed above, other skill guys who showed well included Homestead 2019 RB Willie Garrison, Sun Prairie 2019 WR Cooper Nelson, Kettle Moraine 2019 RB Elijah Weis, Homestead 2019 RB Jared Schneider, Northwestern 2019 RB Reagan Ruffi, Appleton North 2019 QB Carter Robinson, Oconomowoc 2019 RB Drake Reese, and many others.

"Big men" who showed very well included Beloit Memorial linebacker Matthew Wedig, who measured 6-4, 209 pounds and ran 4.72 in the 40 with solid marks in other events as well. Homestead 2019 DL Jake Raddatz, who received offers from Army and Air Force in the last couple days, measured 6-4, 224 pounds and ran 4.90 in the 40 with 15 reps of 185 pounds on the bench.

There were some huge linemen in attendance, including 2020 players Jack Nelson of Stoughton (6-7, 253; who already has a Badgers offer), Terrin Hey of Muskego (6-7, 300), and Ben Barten (6'6.5", 236). Kettle Moraine 2019 tight end Jake Rock also measured in at 6-7, weighing 247 pounds. He's attracting Division 1 interest and could be a candidate for the offensive line at the next level.

Whitefish Bay's J.J. Lippe showed well at 6-5.5" and 277 pounds, earning a scholarship offer later in the day from North Dakota. A total of 17 players measured in at at least 6-5.

Please note this is just some of the top marks for each event. With 550 athletes competing, it is difficult to mention all of the standouts from the Combine. Full results can be found below.

All results are sorted by grade, then by Last Name. You can re-sort the results by clicking on any of the column headings. Please note you will need to scroll right to see results for all tests.

All height measurements were taken with gym shoes on.

In the Bench Press, players were tested for max number of reps on a certain weight based on their grade level. Class of 2019 players repped at 185 pounds; Class of 2020 at 170 pounds, and Class of 2021 players repped at 155 pounds.
